Refuse collection affected by weather conditions

We would like to apologise to anyone who has not had their rubbish collected. The bad weather and road conditions have slowed down normal collections and made collecting some rubbish impossible. We will attempt to collect uncollected rubbish before the next collection day if road and weather conditions permit.

Recycling collections affected by weather conditions

We would like to apologise to anyone who has not had their recycling collected. Our contractors will attempt to make collections on the next scheduled dates in January 2010 weather and road conditions permitting. Your extra recycling can be left in bags or containers. Opening hours

Our main offices at the Town Hall and Mansion House in Penrith are open again. Opening hours Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 5.15pm - Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm. For emergencies outside the normal opening hours telephone the duty officer on: 01768 817817.

2010/2011 Council Budget Consultation

We are now consulting on our draft 2010/2011 budget proposals, these were agreed by the Executive on 8 December. The draft proposals are based on existing budgets and adjusted for proposed savings and areas of new expenditure. They also consider what the level of Council Tax increase will be and how much of our balances (financial reserves) will be needed. Cumbria flood recovery appeal 2009

Penrith and Eden Museum temporary closure for improvement works

Penrith and Eden Museum closed temporarily on 7 November 2009 for approximately three months. The museum will open again when work to improve disabled access is finished.
